Was Ibn Taymiyyah a Christian? Empty Was Ibn Taymiyyah a Christian?

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

This is another great wonder from this evil man. In his Majma' al-Fatawa 5/405, this is what he states:

وفى الانجيل أن المسيح عليه السلام قال لا تحلفوا بالسماء فانها كرسى الله وقال للحواريين ان أنتم غفرتم للناس فان اباكم الذى فى السماء يغفر لكم

In the Injil, it is written that al-Masih, peace be upon him, said: "Do not swear by the sky because it is the Seat of Allah. He also said to the disciples: "Forgive the people BECAUSE YOUR FATHER WHO IS IN HEAVEN forgives you too.

The first problem with Ibn Taymiyyah's statement is that it assumes that the Bible is the Injil. Of course, he has probably not quoted the Bible accurately. But then, here is the puzzle.

The true Injil was REVEALED to Isa (as), NOT written ABOUT him. Thus, what was written after his death about him cannot be the Injil. What Ibn Taymiyyah quoted is a supposed history of Isa (as). Therefore, he should have known that such could neer have been the Injil.

How could the Salafi "Shaykh al-Islam" be so ignorant?

Secondly, Ibn Taymiyyah has cited the statement as proof that Allah is in heaven. This means that he did believe it. Does it mean that Allah is the father of Salafis???

Lastly, Ibn Taymiyyah assumes that the Biblical Jesus is a forgiving, loing fellow. Well, considering that Christians believe that he was the God of the Old Testament as well, then it would not be out of place to read these instructions of his. When you read those instructions, assume that they are coming from President Obama, and you will get my point:

NUMBERS 31:

Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Take full vengeance for the sons of Israel on the Midianites; afterward you will be gathered to your people.” And Moses spoke to the people, saying, “Arm men from among you for the war, that they may go against Midian, to execute the Lord’s vengeance on Midian. “A thousand from each tribe of all the tribes of Israel you shall send to the war.” So there were furnished from the thousands of Israel, a thousand from each tribe, twelve thousand armed for war. And Moses sent them, a thousand from each tribe, to the war, and Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, to the war with them, and the holy vessels and the trumpets for the alarm in his hand. So they made war against Midian, just as the Lord had commanded Moses, and they killed every male. And they killed the kings of Midian along with the rest of their slain: Evi and Rekem and Zur and Hur and Reba, the five kings of Midian; they also killed Balaam the son of Beor with the sword. And the sons of Israel captured the women of Midian and their little ones; and all their cattle and all their flocks and all their goods, they plundered. Then they burned all their cities where they lived and all their camps with fire. And they took all the spoil and all the prey, both of man and of beast. And they brought the captives and the prey and the spoil to Moses, and to Eleazar the priest and to the congregation of the sons of Israel, to the camp at the plains of Moab, which are by the Jordan opposite Jericho.

And Moses and Eleazar the priest and all the leaders of the congregation went out to meet them outside the camp. And Moses was angry with the officers of the army, the captains of thousands and the captains of hundreds, who had come from service in the war. And Moses said to them, “Have you spared all the women? “Behold, these caused the sons of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to trespass against the Lord in the matter of Peor, so the plague was among the congregation of the Lord. “Now therefore, kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has known man intimately. “But all the girls who have not known man intimately, spare for yourselves. “And you, camp outside the camp seven days; whoever has killed any person, and whoever has touched any slain, purify yourselves, you and your captives, on the third day and on the seventh day. “And you shall purify for yourselves every garment and every article of leather and all the work of goats’ hair, and all articles of wood.”

Those are the orders the Biblical Jesus gave to the Israelites according to Christians. And they are just a drop from the oceans of his war crimes orders. He definitely was a war criminal. Therefore, he was not as peaceful or forgiving as he later pretended to be.

Ibn Taymiyyah was a fool to have believed that.

Was Ibn Taymiyyah a Christian? Empty Context please?

An honest and scholarly discourse warrants that evidence be presented in full when ever a case is being presented. The statement of Ibn-e-Taimiyyah Rahmatullah Alaih is presented here out of context. Somebody could do exactly the same with the quotes from bible that you have presented as your evidence.

It is only fair that the context of the quote be established to justify any critique. Since this is a quote from a collection of Fatawa, kindly paste the whole Fatwa from which this statement is taken i.e. the question or title of the fatwa as well as the complete ruling so that the readers can get the whole picture of the fatwa and compare it to the point you are trying to make, and can ascertain its validity for themselves as well rather than just trusting your opinion.

I'm sure you'd like others to treat your statements the same way as I have suggested above whenever writing a critique.
